Why this exists.

Bush & Salt began through hands-on work — not in a lab, but in a treatment room.

As a physiotherapist and remedial massage therapist, I was constantly looking for ways to extend the care my clients received beyond the session. Something simple they could take home — a ritual that continued to ease tension, calm the body, and support recovery.

I often recommended magnesium soaks, combined with essential oils. But over time, I realised something deeper — Australia holds an extraordinary range of native botanicals and oils, many of which have been understood and used for tens of thousands of years. Knowledge that, in many ways, we have overlooked.

That realisation became the foundation of Bush & Salt.

The first formula I created was what is now our Renewal Body Scrub. It was made for a client needing physical and mental reset. After using it, he called to say how noticeably refreshed and restored he felt — lighter, clearer, and more at ease in his body.

That response is the reason this brand exists.

Every formula is still developed with that same intention — to create simple, effective rituals that support the body beyond the treatment room. Each product is made by hand in Canberra, in small batches, with a focus on function, quality, and respect for the ingredients we use.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia, and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present, and acknowledge the knowledge systems that have long understood the value of native botanicals.
